Time flies....
when you're being productive!! :) Scrap-n-Circle had a crop this past weekend with several great challenges, and I was creating like nobody's business!! I was so proud of myself for all I got done, so of course I want to share them with you!!
This first card was using the SNC logo colors and flowers.

This card was using scraps from a layout.

This layout is using one of my favorite sizes, 6x12. And check this out....I sewed on it!! Yep you heard me right, I actually used the sewing machine on this little dude. Yet another feat I'm proud of! As a matter of fact, I think I'll be trying it again soon.

This layout was done based on a sketch from PageMaps (Jan side map).

Another 6x12 here with all hand drawn doodles.

So there you go....that's how I spent my Superbowl Sunday. LOL!

first challenge of the new year!!

So, IF I was the kind of person to do New Year resolutions, I would have probably included one about trying to use more sketches this year....to force myself to think out-of-the-box. But since I'm not that kind of person, I just decided to play along in the challenge at Caardvarks ;) They were lucky enough to have an exclusive cardmap sketch from Becky Fleck for their first challenge of the new year! I was inspired by their DT creations, and jumped right in to try one for myself! I had received some yummy Love, Elsie pp from my secret santa at Scrap-N-Circle, and paired it with some SEI I had one hand. The Heidi Swapp pink cherry bling was just too cute not to use with it, and I also used my FAVORITE American Crafts Thickers! The flower, ribbon, & ric-rack were out of my stash.

playing catch up!
Yeah, I know I've been MIA. I've been busy, I tell ya! Now that the hustle and bustle of the holidays is over, I'll try to catch up and post my latest creations. These first few layouts were for the challenges at Scrapperie. Challenge #5 was to create a layout with dimension and photos that showed motion. The pictures of Ethan jumping on the trampoline worked out great, and I used pop dots on the chipboard letters to add dimension. I'm not exactly thrilled with the end result, but I suppose that's what I get for waiting until the last minute :(

Challenge #6 was to come up with a song that reminds you of a specific person and do a layout of that person including the song lyrics and journaling about why it reminds you of them. I have already scrapped this pic of Kristi, but it suited this challenge too well not to use it again! I had ran out of photo paper at the time, so I used cardstock to print it on. Turned out pretty good!

And lastly, this being the final week, challenge #8 was to create a layout with red, green, & gold being the dominant colors. Yet another waiting until the last minute here, so I'm not really liking this one either.
Now, on to more projects!! :) I got my first kit to design with from The Embellishment Studio,
so here are the things I've created using it.

a few cards....

There was a bonus challenge at Scrapperie this week to make 4 "just because" cards out of scraps. The two blue cards and the black & pink one were made mostly out of shtuff that was laying around on my desk! The other one I got into my patterened paper scraps to make. I actually enjoy creating cards out of my scraps. If only I'd send them to people instead of letting them accumulate into a huge pile, I'd be doing so much better!
