playing catch up!

Yeah, I know I've been MIA. I've been busy, I tell ya! Now that the hustle and bustle of the holidays is over, I'll try to catch up and post my latest creations. These first few layouts were for the challenges at Scrapperie. Challenge #5 was to create a layout with dimension and photos that showed motion. The pictures of Ethan jumping on the trampoline worked out great, and I used pop dots on the chipboard letters to add dimension. I'm not exactly thrilled with the end result, but I suppose that's what I get for waiting until the last minute :(

Challenge #6 was to come up with a song that reminds you of a specific person and do a layout of that person including the song lyrics and journaling about why it reminds you of them. I have already scrapped this pic of Kristi, but it suited this challenge too well not to use it again! I had ran out of photo paper at the time, so I used cardstock to print it on. Turned out pretty good!

Challenge #7 was to make a photoless layout about any topic. This is what I came up with.

And lastly, this being the final week, challenge #8 was to create a layout with red, green, & gold being the dominant colors. Yet another waiting until the last minute here, so I'm not really liking this one either.

Now, on to more projects!! :) I got my first kit to design with from The Embellishment Studio,
so here are the things I've created using it.

a few cards....

There was a bonus challenge at Scrapperie this week to make 4 "just because" cards out of scraps. The two blue cards and the black & pink one were made mostly out of shtuff that was laying around on my desk! The other one I got into my patterened paper scraps to make. I actually enjoy creating cards out of my scraps. If only I'd send them to people instead of letting them accumulate into a huge pile, I'd be doing so much better!

another week, another challenge!

Challenge #4 at Scrapperie this week.....create a layout using 4 photos, a 4 word title, 4 embellishments, and 4 colors. I actually love these types of challenges, but this one proved a little difficult for me. I mean c'mon, only 4 embellishments?? Actually, while I was writing out my description to upload into the gallery, I realized I had one too many embellishments on my layout, so I opted to pull off the Heidi Swapp cherry bling I had on there....it was the easiest to remove! LOL And this is the end result (although I'm not totally digging this one at all!)

Scrapperie Challenge #3

This week's challenge was to create a layout that had the title "This is True Beauty". Here is my take....

lost in the shuffle.

This layout was on my scrapping desk forever....while I was still looking for my mojo!! I eventually finished it, but for some reason, forgot to add it to my collection here. It's another 6x12 layout....fun, fun size!!

Scrapperie Nov/Dec Challenge #2...

do a monochromatic layout, and whoa!! was this ever a challenge for me!! I just don't do monochromatic! I mean, the more colors I can use on a layout the better! After I got to digging around in my stuff, and knew I had all kinds of things green, it came together. Still not something I would have done on my own, but that's the whole idea of challenges, huh?

Life is good!

Ever have those days when everything goes according to plan and you just don't think things could get any better? And you have to pinch yourself to make sure you're not dreaming? Well, that's exactly the kind of day I've had. Got an email just a while ago that I've ended up reading like a gazillion times. It's one I haven't deleted just yet, and probably won't for a day or two, or three.....maybe even a week. Just according to how long it takes to sink in, and it may actually take a while for it to do just that, simply because it's so unexpected.....so exciting......so got me jumping up and down. No, I'm not pregnant! I made The Embellishment Studio design team!!!!! I am absolutely ecstatic and can't wait to get started!!! Oh yeah, and I made a 100% on my CPR test ;) hehe.

Lookie!!

Remember that mojo I was having such a hard time finding? I think I've finally found the solution to the problem! I've done a couple of 8.5 x 11 layouts lately, and I'm really loving working with this size! I might just be back in my groove :)

once again!

Somehow, for some reason, it takes participating in challenges &/or contests to get my creative juices flowing. Since I have been lacking in that department lately, I decided to sign myself up at Scrapperie to join in their Nov/Dec Challenge. The first challenge was to scrap about your Superhero. No doubt about it, my dad is my hero!

one more....

whipped this one up for a challenge at Label Tulip .....photos could be no larger than 2.5" x 2.5" Thankfully, I had run across these photo booth pics not so long ago and they fit the bill perfectly. Used mostly the Label Tulip kit here.

Celebrating Family...

I was inspired to try multiple photos of varying sizes and here is what I came up with. Kinda hard for me since I'm mostly a one-photo-layout kinda girl. Felt good anyway to get all those pics onto a page and be able to say they are scrapped! May have to try that again....soon!

Lost! If found, please return to rightful owner immediately!

It appears I have lost my mojo!! I go sit in my little scrapbook nook for hours, and come up with zilch! I try playing with new kit stuff, different color combos....I go to my favorite sites searching for inspiration....still, nothing. So please, if you see my mojo wondering around aimlessly, point it in the right direction and send it back home to me! In the meantime, here is a measly attempt at my mojo-less recovery.

back home with layouts to share!

I spent this past weekend at my favorite yearly scrapbooking retreat....Croptoberfest! Four glorious days of nothing but scrapping, snacking, and spending time with friends.....it's almost like heaven!! Of course, given that much time, you'd think I would be more productive than just 3 layouts! Actually, I done a total of 5, but 2 of those I done for a couple of friends. That's actually a good number for me! For some reason, it's so much harder for me to do pages away from home. Go figure. Anyway, here they are......

I'm so honored!!

I received an email not too long ago from someone who had seen a few of my layouts on TwoPeas. She explained that she helped run a blog that focused on pet scrapbooking layouts, and asked if I would be interested in doing a guest spot with them. I was absolutely flattered!! Thanks Correna and A True Friend blog!

Treasured Hunt week #4

This is my entry layout for week #4. Requirement was to use journaling which included "I wonder....I hope....I regret...I know...." All other elements were totally ad lib.

Saturday, September 1, 2007

here it is!

My final layout for the Scrap-n-Circle Summer Circle Challenge. I really had to dig deep for this last one! A 2-pager with flowers...neither of which are my strong points! Winner will be announced Wednesday, and I'm keeping my fingers crossed, but honestly, making it this far is reward enough! I made it into the final 3, and I couldn't be any more excited!! I've had a blast this whole challenge, and the layouts from everybody have been just amazing!

new layout...

This one was a combination of two challenges put together...one was to use 5 pics, the other was to use office supplies.

Sunday, August 26, 2007

Say what??

I know, you probably think I'm crazy on this one. The challenge this round of the Treasured Hunt at Treasured Scrapbooking was to do a layout with the journaling coming from someone/something else's point of view. I immediately thought of my poor cell phone!

Wednesday, August 22, 2007

Oh my!!

I managed to make it on through to the next round at Scrap-N-Circle!!!! Can we say ecstatic?!?!!?! There is soooo much talent going on over there! So anyway, this next challenge is to make your own handmade patterned paper and a handmade embellishment. I made the biggest mess with all the paint, but I had the most fun doing it! LOL Here's my entry for Challenge #5 :)

I'm stoked!!! I made it to the next round in both the Treasured Hunt and the Summer Circle Challenge! These are my layouts submitted for the next round in each contest. The competition is getting tight! Awesome layouts being posted everywhere! Keeping my fingers crossed, again!

Trying something new.....

This is my first 6x12 layout, but I can assure you it won't be my last!! I loved doing this size! I also loved my first kit from Label Tulip ,which is where most of the goodies on this little layout came from.

Oldies but Goodies

These are all older layouts, but still worthy of being posted :)

Another challenge layout!

I was chosen as one of the 31 finalists moving on in the Treasured Hunt at Treasured Scrapbooking. Yippee!! The first challenge revolved around "one"..... create a ONE page LO, using only ONE photo & a ONE word title, pp from only ONE manufacturer, the word "one" or the number "1" be must on the layout, & use only ONE technique of sewing, inking, doodling, or sanding. Here is what I came up with. Thankfully, this one came together pretty quick. Keeping my fingers crossed to go on to the next round!! :)

Challenge #3 was a doozy!

Woohoo!! I made it to the next round in the Summer Circle Challenge at Scrap-n-Circle! This week's challenge took me waaaaay outta my box. You had to create a shaped layout, anything other than square or rectangle; you could only use one photo; you had to use lots of words, other than journaling; you had to use office supplies on your layout. Actually, I had a lot of fun doing this one! Keeping my fingers crossed for the next round!

new one from last night....

I was just dying to scrap last night, so I stayed up way past midnight playing around creating this one. I got inspiration from the August sketch challenge at Treasured Scrapbooking. Not a favorite, but that's what happens sometimes...
