One more before vaca!

Finished this one up last night for the Back to Your Scraps challenge at Scrapperie. I just love these type of challenges! Forces me to use up some of that stuff that I just HAD to have. LOL

As far as the layout goes....I was sailing right along, pretty much satisfied with the way it was turning out....UNTIL....until I added the title, then ugh!! I was having a hard time picking out letters for the title anyway and then ended up missing the mark....BAD! Oh well, what's done is done and I'm not going to redo it now.

It's not over 'til the fat lady sings....

and I ain't singing!!! My creative juices just keep oozing from every orifice! (Isn't that a nice little visual?! HA!) Just to prove it, here is one more layout for the holiday weekend. And in case you lost count, that brings my running total up to 4 layouts!! Yep, count 'em....4!!! Oh, I'm on a roll, baby! :)

So here is the deal...

It's a fact that I haven't scrapped much lately. I was coming to the sad realization that my creativeness had eluded me. I was ready to throw in the towel. Hang it up. Clear it out. But THEN, something happened this weekend! Something just clicked, and I whipped out 3 layouts....one right after the other!! Aaah, it feels so good to be back in the swing of things!!

Pencil Lines Sketch #92

I was so in the mood to scrap Sunday, but lately I'm having the hardest time getting started!! Can't decide on a pic, can't decide on my papers, can't decide what format to use....it's pathetic, I tell ya!! So anyway, I'm all the time visiting the Pencil Lines blog to get inspiration 'cause that DT over there rocks the sketches every week!! And when I saw the new sketch for this week, let's just say the spirit hit me!! This is what I came up with.

Let's try this again.

I don't really know why I thought I could keep a blog updated regularly. Maybe because I'm not scrapping as much as I used to? Between working evening shift and it being summer, I'm just not being as productive. That being said, I do have a few projects to show you.

These first couple of cards are the sketches at My Sketch World for May and June. I also have my July card finished, but you'll have to wait 'til the end of the month to see it. Make sure you go ahead and check out the blog to see all the great sketches!

And here are a couple of layouts that I've whipped up...

Whoa!!

I've posted 3 days in a row!! So how do ya like that? huh? do ya? do ya? Yeah, well, don't get used to.....it's just a freak accident that happened that way. So anyway, got to play in my mounds of scrappin' goodness last night, and this is what resulted :) Most everything came in the Label Tulip March kit 'cept for the older stuff like the MM woven letters and the Chatterbox bg paper I drug outta my stash. And that adorable photo is yours truly here at about age 3 :) Enjoy!

I'm such a sucker!!

Sucker for challenges anyway! So of course when I saw this awesome new challenge blog, I bookmarked it right away!! It's called The Design Experiment, and the first challenge was to write a note to your younger self. I'm not one to do a whole lot of journaling, but there was just something about this challenge that made me want to do it. Of course, by the time I got mine finished, they already have challenge #2 posted. Better late than never though, right?? Besides, that's just another layout completed for me! And oh yeah, if you're wanting to read the journaling, just click on the pic for a larger view. To type all that here....well, I'm just not feelin' it ;)

Here is the sketch she provided for the DT call, along with the one I submitted.

Take a hike!

No, wait....I mean, take a trip!! LOL The newest challenge at Caardvarks is to create a card with a transportation theme. As soon as I read it, I thought of the Making Memories papers I have that have never been used. I know, imagine such a thing! I also had the perfect set of stamps from October Afternoon to go along with them. So in the end, a very simple card resulted, but I'm happy with it! :)

And another card challenge at My Sketch World. This one was to draw inspiration from the sketch provided. I got to use some of that uber yummy Teresa Collins Journal It paper I mentioned earlier, so that's what the cute little June calendar is ;) The stamp set I used on this one is from Label Tulip .....they come up with the most awesome stamps over there!! The little woven "congratulations" label has been in my stash for upteen ages. It came from the clearance bin at Target. Gosh, it sure makes you feel good to use up that stash! So anyway, I like this one, too, and I hope you can see the resemblance.

seeing green.....

yep, it's that time of year ya know, so to honor upcoming St. Patty's Day, here are a couple of projects that'll have you seeing green! Used lots of goodies from the Feb. kit at TES on this layout. And just let me tell ya, it was chocked full of awesome vintage finds! I used the Glimmer Mist in that same kit on the card to spray the shamrock.

Time flies....

when you're being productive!! :) Scrap-n-Circle had a crop this past weekend with several great challenges, and I was creating like nobody's business!! I was so proud of myself for all I got done, so of course I want to share them with you!!

This first card was using the SNC logo colors and flowers.

This card was using scraps from a layout.

This layout is using one of my favorite sizes, 6x12. And check this out....I sewed on it!! Yep you heard me right, I actually used the sewing machine on this little dude. Yet another feat I'm proud of! As a matter of fact, I think I'll be trying it again soon.

This layout was done based on a sketch from PageMaps (Jan side map).

Another 6x12 here with all hand drawn doodles.

So there you go....that's how I spent my Superbowl Sunday. LOL!

first challenge of the new year!!

So, IF I was the kind of person to do New Year resolutions, I would have probably included one about trying to use more sketches this year....to force myself to think out-of-the-box. But since I'm not that kind of person, I just decided to play along in the challenge at Caardvarks ;) They were lucky enough to have an exclusive cardmap sketch from Becky Fleck for their first challenge of the new year! I was inspired by their DT creations, and jumped right in to try one for myself! I had received some yummy Love, Elsie pp from my secret santa at Scrap-N-Circle, and paired it with some SEI I had one hand. The Heidi Swapp pink cherry bling was just too cute not to use with it, and I also used my FAVORITE American Crafts Thickers! The flower, ribbon, & ric-rack were out of my stash.
